Dr Tim Saunders PhD, MA, BA, PGCE, PGCert, CELTA
Dr Tim has a BA Hons in Theology and Religious Studies (Manchester University), MA in Teaching & Curriculum Management (The Open University), PhD in Educational Leadership,PGCE in Primary Teaching (Manchester University), PG Certificate in Online & Distance Learning Technology (The Open University), and CELTA in Teaching English to Adult Speakers of Other Languages (LILA Liverpool).
He has a wealth of experience that includes Primary School teaching (7 years), University lecturing (2 years),Thinking Skills training (10 years), Headteacher & Principal (14 years), Organisational Development Consultant (5 years), and a Research Fellow (2 years).
Thinking Skills Expertise
Tim has designed and delivered workshops and CPD courses in thinking and learning skills for schools for over 10 years. This includes Primary pupil workshops & Staff INSET across the UK; Secondary Student Workshops & Staff INSET: Liverpool & Southwark; INSET for Learning Networks in Haworth, Yorkshire; INSET for Hillenden LA Gifted & Talented network; KS4 RE Teachers INSET, Caernarfon LA; Local Authority Advisors INSET, East Riding. As a class teacher, Headteacher, and interim Headteacher in six different schools he has always made a point of cultivating thinking schools whatever their level of development.
Cambridge Muslim College
Dr Saunders is also a Research Fellow at the Cambridge Muslim College, the Dean of which is the well known English scholar Tim Winter, Abdal Hakim Murad. Abdal Hakim was educated at Cambridge, Al-Azhar and London universities. He is currently the Shaykh Zayed Lecturer of Islamic Studies in the Faculty of Divinity at Cambridge University and Director of Studies in Theology at Wolfson College. Dr Saunders is developing his Islamic Renaissance Project in liaison with the College.
